State offices on aging are required by law to offer information and referral services (called I&R) at no cost. States are divided into smaller areas called area agencies on aging (AAA). There are 662 AAAs. The state offices on aging can refer you to the AAA that covers the area where you live. Your local AAA can provide you with information of local community resources.
